On March 19, 2023 at 7:30 a.m., the Shenzhen Baoan Marathon was started after the firing of starter gun in Haibin Plaza, Baoan District. Taking the “Baoan New Great-leap-forward Development, Leading for Future”as main theme, this event had two projects as Marathon and Half Marathon. Thereinto, the Marathon project had 8,000 players, and the Half Marathon project had 10,000 players, so the total event scale was 18,000 players.

Three years later, this “Baoan Marathon” organically combined the Baoan cultures, tourism, technologies, environmental-protection and other elements with this event, and tried best to create the international high-quality first-class marathon event brand with “quality, temperature, and features”. The event services are upgraded comprehensively, used the scientific and technological empowerment, created the smart “Baoan Marathon”, and tried best to realize the high-standard operation of event. 

This event integrated the smart services in many aspects such as track setting, detection equipment, security and medical treatment, player services, and creation of intelligent road running scenarios. This event adopted the human face recognition system of Maxvision Technology to make the player identity check. This event used the human face recognition algorithm technologies of Maxvision Technology, realized the rapid and correct recognition verification of players under multiple scenarios such as wearing mask, different illumination, distance, and different gestures, expressions, clothing and makeup, completed the identity before receiving competition materials for almost 20,000 players in the short 2 days, facilitated the receiving verification services, effectively eliminated the player’s behaviors of substitute running, and guaranteed the efficient application and management of big data such as player identity information.

The human face recognition system of Maxvision Technology has been widely applied to various complicated human face recognition scenarios such as sea, land and air ports and immigration inspection for many years, and been explored in the special high-difficulty recognition scenarios such as coal mine. This application in the marathon event for the first time not only completed the player identity verification accurately and efficiently, but also accumulated the experiences of serving large events, expanded the application scenarios of the human face recognition system of Maxvision Technology in the fields of urban public cultural and sports services, promoted the capabilities of Maxvision Technology for serving the masses’ digital life and participating in the urban smart services.
